Notarizations & Certified True Copies
We offer notarization services for several different types of documents. These include:
If you require a certified copy, please bring with you the original document for copying at the office. Although this process is generally quick, we do recommend booking an appointment if possible to ensure our Notaries are available to certify your copies upon arrival or you can make arrangements to drop the document off and schedule a pick up time that is convenient to you!
Letters of consent to travel are strongly recommended by the Government of Canada & must be signed by the parent(s) or guardian(s) who are not traveling with the minor child(ren), and who are giving permission to another adult(s) to travel with their child(ren). Sample travel letters can be found on the Government of Canada's Website. Alternatively, we have copies available at our Westshore office for your convenience. Please have the form completed but NOT signed prior to your appointment and bring two pieces of ID.
Some countries require their citizens to obtain a temporary resident Visa prior to entering Canada. Sometimes when a person is applying for this temporary Visa they are asked to provide a letter of invitation from someone currently residing in Canada. The letter is required to be prepared by the person issuing the invitation, and some Visa offices require that this letter be notarized by a Notary Public. For more information on what the letter must contain about the person being invited and about yourself, please visit the Government of Canada's Website by clicking here. For a list of countries and territories whose citizens may require a Temporary Resident Visa to enter Canada click here. Please have the letter completed prior to your appointment. For more information please feel free to contact our office at 250-388-5905 or e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
We require two pieces of ID from all parties signing any documents in front of the Notary. One must be a government issued picture ID such as a valid and current drivers' license, passport or BC ID. The second can be a carecard, bank card issued by a major bank provided it has your full name on it, credit card issued by a major institution, social insurance card or birth certificate.
* Payment Options: Cash, Cheque or Interac Debit (sorry we do not accept Credit Card at this time)
